Insubond spray foam has valuable properties:
Providing superior levels of insulation to achieve the U values required by Building Regulations with a shallower cavity depth
Restoring the integrity of cavity walls in which the wall ties have become ineffective due to corrosion. - The foam is a satisfactory replacement for normal metal wall ties adding strength and reducing thermal bridging
Providing a wall insulation system which is effective below the damp proof course or where severely wet whether affects a building. Closed cell foams are resistant to driving rain so the foam stays dry with no loss of thermal properties
Sealing out draughts and reducing air leakage
Providing a permanent bond to masonry that prevents shrinkage or settlement
Insubond spray foam is injected as a liquid through properly spaced holes in accordance with a BBA approved methodology in a cavity wall construction. Foam expands in the cavity and sets to become a substantially closed-celled, cross-linked, rigid polyurethane foam which strongly adheres to the inner and outer leaves, so that they become bonded together.
