TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The product

Insubond spray foam insulation is a chemically modified Polyurethane Foam similar in composition to that used in widely available prefabricated board form. Our product is produced from two liquid components in 1:1 ratio, combined under pressure and heat to form a rigid foam system.

Thermal Properties

With a K-value of 0.02w/mK, Insubond foam is the most effective insulation material available, providing maximum insulation value for the minimum depth.

The Insubond spray applied insulation is entirely versatile being applied at various depths subject to the requirements of BBA approval and Building Regulations. Because of the flexibility of on-site application, many Building Control Inspectors will allow a ‘trade off’ with deeper insulation in some areas where other areas are unsuitable for the required depth providing the overall required insulation value is achieved.

Condensation

Insubond spray foam has a high water vapour resistance of 600-1000MNs/g –sufficient to prevent interstitial condensation when applied appropriately but allowing battens, joists, rafters and other wood to ‘breathe’. Insubond foam complies with BS 5250: 2002 ‘Control of Condensation in Buildings’.

Fire

Insubond spray foam meets Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame when tested to BS 476 Part 7: 1997.

Non-allergenic

Insubond spray foam is particularly recommended for those suffering from allergies, asthma or other respiratory problems. It contains no formaldehyde and has no detectable emissions once cured. It contains no fibres.

Air tightness

Any jointed insulation system will have its weak points but Insubond’s two component liquid system produces a highly efficient seamless blanket of insulation that seals all gaps and moulds itself to the surface preventing unwanted air leakage.

By eliminating energy wasteful roof space ventilation, buildings can be warmer, dryer and more environmentally friendly.

Information without obligation

At Insubond we are always happy to provide information and support without any charge or obligation arising.

We can provide free U Value and condensation risk calculations including recommended foam depths. If required, we will enter into direct discussions with Building Control Inspectors and provide information for inclusion in SAP calculations.
